20 Photoshop actions designed to create beautiful and creative portraits.
Actions included: Subtle Skin Smoothing, Dramatic Smooth Skin, Dramatic Smooth Skin BW, Edgy BW, Matte BW, Smooth Subtle Cross-Process, Matte Cross-Process, Bold Smooth Cross-Process, Matte Lavender, Matte Pink Warmth, Matte Vivid Warmth, Matte Pastel Blue, Warm Glow, Pink Pastel Haze, Warm Pastel Haze, Blue Pastel Haze, Purple Pastel Haze, Warm Red Glow, Sharp Glow and Soft Color.
How to Adjust the Skin Smoothing:
1. Most of the actions have a skin smoothing layer. First, make sure that you click on the layer
mask of this layer (white box).
2. Using a soft black brush, erase all of the areas that you want to be perfectly in focus.
Typically the eyes (don’t forget the eyelashes and perhaps makeup), lips, nostrils and
perhaps hair and clothing. Sometimes you may want the background to be sharp as well,
but if you really want your subject to “pop” leaving the background blurry is fine. If you make
a mistake, switch the color to white, and paint over the area to undo the changes.
3. Adjust the layer opacity down so that your subject’s skin won’t look unrealistic. Generally
somewhere between 20% to 80%.
You can adjust any other layers, after applying the action, if you wish.
