This set of scripts handles general alignment and sizing options for rectangular objects within InDesign documents. All details are handled in an instant! Every time a new layout is computed, a dialog asks for your approval; if you cancel, the layout is restored to its prior configuration. You can save a unlimited number of layout snapshots, using your own names to identify them. You can specify page margins for your document and override those settings for individual spreads. You can precisely move objects to the corners of the page. Numeric quantities can be specified using named parameters - you choose their names. You can add captions beneath images and groups. In summary, you can satisfy your wildest layout dreams without obsessing over details! Plus, the set of scripts includes sensible tools that manage snapshots, presets, margins and other details. In short, these scripts greatly extend InDesign's capabilities related to object alignment and sizing. You can even simultaneously align three sides of an image and preserve its aspect ratio.

These 28 scripts handle all details for laying out and configuring document pages to form appealing designs. To move beyond InDesign's limitations the scripts utilize two extensions from the InDesign approach: (1) You can assign names to rectangular objects in your spreads (the names are hidden within the document), and (2) You can specify location and size relationships between objects (because you can name item(s), which lets the scripts utilize properties of objects other than the single one that is selected). I have made YouTube videos showing how easily you can use these tools to make appealing layouts quickly. At YouTube search for [”Kain” && ”Indesign”] - type everything between the square brackets. The included pdf file described every script within the set.

I added a script supporting speedy naming of all objects on a spread. I fixed two minor bugs.

Unzip to reveal the files within the file IDLFull.zip. Then copy the script files (type jsxbin) to the scripts panel directory which is found as follows:

In a Mac: Application/InDesign /Scripts/Scripts Panel

Under Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign \Scripts\Scripts Panel

You do not have to restart your system, and probably you don't even have to stop InDesign while doing the copying (this does work under Windows 10). You will see the scripts listed alphabetically in InDesign's scripts panel; you can activate a script by double clicking on its entry in the scripts panel. All scripts require that you have selected an item on the current spread; if you have not, you will receive a reminder from the script.
