Every action in this set uses frequency separation which separates the texture and color/tone into separate layers. This technique is used by professional photographers to create beautiful skin that retains natural texture. A link to my blog post for installing actions and editing the frequency separation layers is included in the download.
• 20 Matte Portrait actions plus 1 bonus action for frequency separation only.
• Compatible with both Mac and PC.
• Fully adjustable. Actions don't flatten leaving every layer editable.
• Extended license automatically included
Each Photoshop action has been crafted to look great with a wide variety of images. This set contains 16 color actions and 4 b&w actions that will give a beautiful matte look to your photos.
Matte Portrait actions included: Basic Matte, Copper, Bright Warm, Fall Colors, Faded, Intense, Tan Paste, Pink Pastel, Lavender Pastel, Pale Blue Pastel, Yellow-Green Pastel, Ultra Matte, Toned Color 1, Toned Color 2, Toned Color 3, Toned B&W 1, Toned B&W 2, Toned B&W 3, Toned B&W 4, Deep, Bonus: Frequency Separation (no other edits)
To edit skin after applying one of these actions:
Click on the ”texture” layer and use the Spot Healing Brush Tool to remove any obvious skin blemishes such as large pores, scars and stray facial hairs. If your model has extensive or very red acne you might want to use the Spot Healing Brush before running the action. Experiment to see what works best for your photo.
Next, click on the ”base” layer. Select the Lasso tool and set the Feather amount to 15.
Select an area of your photo that you would like to smooth with the Lasso tool and go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur. Move the radius until the skin looks more even without looking obviously blurry or unnatural. A radius of 4-7 is usually ideal. You can move about the face and body selecting areas and then applying Gaussian blur. It's best to choose a custom radius setting for each section.
