Compatible with any software that allows you to work with layers ( Photoshop, Photoshop Elements) To use the transparent PNGs: - Place the overlay in a layer above your photo. - Transform the overlay until you like the size and placement. - Choose a blending mode. Most of the time Screen, Soft Light or Hard Light are going to produce the best result. - Lower the opacity of the overlay layer if the result is too intense. - Add a mask to the overlay layer. - Use a soft brush, between 20% and 60% opacity, to erase the overlay from places you want to reduce the effect. To use the JPEGs: - Place the overlay in a layer above your photo. - Transform the overlay until you like the size and placement. - Choose ”Screen” as your blending mode. - Reduce the layer opacity if the effect is too strong. - Add a mask to the overlay layer. - Use a soft brush, between 20% and 60% opacity, to erase the overlay from places you want to reduce the effect. 1. Find the Sunlight Overlays.zip file in your downloads folder on your C drive. 2. Unzip this file by right-clicking and choosing ”extract all” on Windows or double clicking on Mac. 3. To open these files in Photoshop: - Open the photo you want to add sunlight to. - Then, open the desired overlay. - Go to Select > All to select the whole overlay image, and then copy and paste it into your original photo. - Transform and move the overlay as desired. - For the transparent .pngs you can choose any blending mode you like. Hard Light, Soft Light and Screen usually give the best result. - For the jpegs choose blending mode Screen. - Reduce the opacity of the overlay layer as desired.
