Solid Noise implements a classic ”procedural noise” algorithm which gives the user detailed control over a range of random noise features. Possible pattern types include detailed, soft and smooth, stripes, waves, fibers, and much more.

A Solid Noise Difference filter is also included for convenience. Both filters work on 8- and 16-bit RGB and grayscale images, and they are currently implemented for the 32-bit version of Photoshop in Windows.
The Solid Noise for Windows plug-in is currently only available for Adobe Photoshop in the 32-bit Windows application (which is or can be made accessible even on 64-bit Windows systems). I anticipate implementing Mac and 64-bit Windows versions in the future.

Solid Noise for Windows v1.0.0 is currently available for Adobe Photoshop CS6 CS6 (32-bit Windows application) through Adobe Exchange. After installation with the Adobe Extension Manager CS6, it can be found in the Photoshop plug-ins directory. The user may run the included filters via the Filters -> Render sub-menu.
After installation. Restart Photoshop, and the Solid Noise and Solid Noise Difference filters will appear under the Filter -> Render sub-menu.
