Data Collection Methodology

Data aggregation: The source of Bombora’s Intent data comes from the largest of its kind cooperative of B2B publishers including the largest media organizations, niche special interest destinations, vendors, analyst websites and more. Cooperative members contribute brand-anonymous, privacy compliant visitor content consumption data, creating a pooled data set of nearly 30 billion monthly content consumption events from three million businesses.
Data organization: Intent topics - Intent topics describe the nature of the online content collected from the data cooperative. It’s derived from deep learning and natural language processing models that understand the content and assign the topic that’s most relevant to what the content piece is about. The Intent topic taxonomy includes 6,800+ topics related to B2B products or services and is proprietary to Bombora.
Company Surge® score - For every business monitored in the cooperative, Bombora understands the ?normal’ research behavior of the business against each Intent topic to establish a baseline. Each week, a Company Surge® score between 0-100 surfaces when behavior deviates from the norm: up, down or stays the same. Scores above 60 represent a statistical increase in research behavior.
Data activation: Through direct integrations with activation partners such as Adobe, Company Surge® data can power Account-Based Marketing campaigns, brand awareness and conversion programs to drive greater results.
